Caesars Entertainment scores permit for "The High Roller" from State

On Wednesday July 25, 2012, Caesars Entertainment announced that it has received the Amusement and Transportation System (ATS) permit from Clark Country Neveda. This permit is the ‘final’ green-light Caesars needed to fully constructs all the elements that will create “The High Roller”. The observation wheel, (read: big ferris wheel) will be the largest one in the world. Larger than the Singnapore Flyer and the London Eye, The High Roller will offer some amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip. The High Roller will be taller than most hotels, and give a view yet to be seen by tourists on the strip. The High Roller will be one of the main attractions of “The Linq”, a massive outdoor, 550 million dollar entertainment complex currently being built by Caesars Entertainment.

ATS permits aren’t easy to get. Operators must document and demonstrate strict design standards, and follow design, construction, maintenance, operation, testing and inspections as outlined by the Clark County’s ATS ordinance.

“This permit represents a significant milestone in the development of the High Roller wheel project,”  Project Director David Codiga, THE LINQ. “We have successfully satisfied Clark County’s requirements to proceed with erecting the structure and look forward to the day the High Roller makes its inaugural rotation.”

“We are enhancing the allure of the resort experience by bringing both visitors and locals something new and dynamic,” said Greg Miller, senior vice president of development for Caesars Entertainment. “The LINQ will cater to a wide variety of audiences and will serve as a location for a wide range of functions – be it a business meeting, bachelor party, first date, or ladies night out. We are creating an experience that currently does not exist within the market. The development will re-define the center Strip.”

The LINQ is responsible for the closing of O’sheas, Upgrades to the FLamingo , and will bring some much needed excitement to the Strip!
The High Roller has some concept art, which can be seen below.

Tip #1 Book your flight thgruoh Southwest.comDue to rising oil prices all airlines have raised their prices. It is hard to find a good deal right now and it’s hard to choose when to book because you don’t know if the flights are going to drop. Southwest gives you peace of mind because if you book your flight and then they drop their prices, you can change your flight online to reflect the lower price with no fees, and they will give you a Southwest credit for the difference to use on your next flight. I booked our flight for July back in March and have since changed it twice to save $130. Also, they offer free checked baggage, free drinks and free snacks.Tip #2Use to find your best hotel rates. They list all of the available promo codes given out by the hotels themselves. When you find a deal you might be interested in, click book now and it will take you directly to the hotel website to view a calendar of rates.Things to doStratosphere- 3 rides on top of the tower that put you overlooking the strip.
