Linq Project Update Video

From September 10, 2013

The High Roller giant Ferris Wheel at The Linq, next to The Quad Las Vegas, continues construction on the Las Vegas Strip.

The final section of the rim of the Las Vegas High Roller was put into place on September 10, 2013 marking a milestone in the construction of the world’s largest observation wheel. The High Roller will be the focal point of The LINQ, Caesars Entertainment’s $550,000,000 retail, dining and entertainment district currently under development.

Installing the rim was completed in 28 sections. Each rim section is 56 feet long and weighs 44 tons. Sections of the rim are currently held in place with temporary radial struts, each measuring 225 feet long. Now that the rim is complete, each temporary strut will be replaced with four cables.

The next major construction phase of the High Roller will include the addition of the 28 glass-enclosed cabins to the rim structure. With the addition of the cabins, the High Roller will reach 550 feet, making it the tallest observation wheel in the world.
